panic attacks.

I've only ever had one panic attack and that was when Chris was about 2 years old and I was boxing up his baby clothes and thinking..... this is my last baby. Now I probaby should have had one this past weekend, while he was getting married.
but all I did was shed my share of tears. Everything was beautiful, rain and all.

The wedding set can be seen here.

Chris called yesterday, Saturday, a couple hours before the wedding. Brent's groomsmen had taken him to get something to eat, so he wasn't around, but Chris said...... "I'm out of Afghanistan....but I can't tell you where I am." I'm okay with this. For now.

*Wedding updates to come later, but it all went nice and the weather held.
The wedding in Saturday and the rehersal dinner is tomorrow (Friday) night. I'll be off work tomorrow. I'll post some pictures when I get the chance.

And so you'll have something to read while I'm busy... spending money. Learn how others are finding ways of saving money.
my cell phone. Chris should be home by the end of this month. Then if I miss a call from him, at least I'll know that I can call him back. I haven't missed one yet.

Chris called this morning, after I got to work. He's getting antsy. He said that he just works out in the gym every evening, stays up late watching tv shows and then sleeps in, but he eats two good meals a day....being that he sleeps in, he misses breakfast.

He said that phone cards cost $20 for 90 minutes. He said that buying that phone card is the highlight of the day. I said, the phone call is the highlight of my day.

So, does anyone want to come over and help me get his room back in order... I've been using it as easy storage and my winter clothes closet. Oh, and the wedding is this weekend. Ya. I don't have much to do....pffffft.

4th email

From my hotmail. Still nothing.

****update****

My email was answered today. But was claimed to have just gotten it today. The other kicker. This blog is read by ex. So, if he and his wife have been reading this blog, as he claims, he and his wife would have known my questions, but it took him this long to respond. Makes ya go....hummmmm.
Or my emails are getting deleted by the wife, because....remember this post? Well, I've now sent it three times. Twice from my home email and now from my yahoo email. My sister has also sent an email asking for some answers because she needs to do some planning also. She's got Cub Scout Day Camp coming up and her two boys will be going to Boy Scout Camp in a couple weeks and she needs to get them ready. She is going to be BUSY! And she is helping me with this dinner. Now, if my ex and his wife want to do everything. Just say so. But I can't wait till the last minute. I need answers.... like YESTERDAY!
The email you sent me is on another computer, so I’m just trying to remember what questions I had…

1. Does the meat need buns?

2. I have enough red plastic plates for the dinner.

3. What is the desert? Do you need plates for that?

4. Ashley and I decided on pop, because I can’t find another 5 gallon drink dispenser, but I can get my hands on a lot of coolers and ice. Also we thought a cooler of bottled water would be nice.

5. Does rolls come with the meat? Jodi was thinking small muffin size corn bread if not.

6. And baked beans.

7. Also, if we don’t do corn bread, corn on the cob might be a nice touch. I can get a couple of those big cookers and the corn is coming on right now.

8. Ashley wasn’t going to have tablecloths, but I convinced her that a plastic cover would be cleaner and neater, so I got some from the dollar tree store. Red and white.

9. We are going to get a couple Rubbermaid garbage cans and plastic bags so we can haul the garbage away.

10. Sandy gave me some champagne flutes from a party she did when she bought out the company 4 years ago. If we want to do a sparkling cider toast…. Or not. I have 40 of them. Brent thought it sounded kind of neat.

11. I have enough napkins and plastic ware. I’m going to wrap the plastic ware in the napkin and tie it with a red ribbon.

12. Not sure if the tables sit 6, 8 or 10. I have my big church table but I thought that would be a good serving table. The other tables are in one of the buildings at work. I don’t have a key. Dave hasn’t had a chance to go take a count of the tables and chairs that are over there, but I do have permission to use them. They must seat at least 8. I know my smaller table seats 8.

13. Serving utensils? And is the meat going to come in big foil pans? Do you need something to keep it warm?

Just some of the questions I can think of for now.

Sent on July 5th..... still waiting......
Brenda,

We have been talking with Brent and Ashley about their plans for the 'rehearsal' dinner, wedding and reception. We reassured them that we are willing to help with all expenses normally incurred by the groom's family.

They have decided on a barbecue theme for the dinner, so we will provide some meats, rolls and a light dessert. Brent says you want to provide some salads, and are getting some tables and chairs. Whatever you are willing and able to provide is greatly appreciated.

T***** and I will be at the coast for a few days prior to the weekend, and will arrive in Beaverton on July 24. We plan to finalize our preparations that day and Friday morning if needed. We talk with Brent and Ashley regularly, so will discuss any other details with them.

Is there anything you see wrong with this plan? Do you need details or do you just let things happen and hope for the best? Do I just show up with salads for......how many? It's gone from 25-50. Where is it now? What kind of meat? What kind of salads should I prepare? Do you need table clothes, dishes, silverware, glasses? What is everybody drinking? Were you planning on providing the drink? What about centerpeices? Do you see where I'm going with this? HELP! Or not help. I don't know.
My son just called. He just asked...well, sort of asked his girlfriend to marry him. He said...'July 26, 2008'. They've picked out the ring, set the date, he just hasn't actually 'asked' her. He said he can get the ring when he pays off at least half. I asked... 'how much do you need to get it on her finger?' ....'about $200.' .. I said..'I'll give you the $200 so you can put it on her finger.' .... silly boy.

I like his girlfriend. Her name is Ashley. She is 23.. I think or 24... He is 27. They are cute together. He's a big tease and she can tease back. She's the youngest of her family, Brent is the second oldest and first son.

Ashley said any of us can help with the planning. I said... Just tell me what you want me to do. The plans are yours!

I'll keep you all updated!
